Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of YumRecall. By creating an account, signing in, continuing as a guest, or otherwise using YumRecall, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the YumRecall Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use YumRecall. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and are legally able to agree to these Terms.

2. What YumRecall does

YumRecall is a personal food-memory app. It lets you save restaurants, dishes, photos, ratings, comments, visit history, and related information. Some features may use third-party services for authentication, restaurant search, cloud backup, analytics, diagnostics, and optional AI-assisted dish recognition.

YumRecall is not a restaurant, delivery service, medical service, nutrition service, or food-safety authority.

3. Accounts and guest use

You may use YumRecall as a guest or connect supported sign-in methods. You are responsible for keeping credentials and devices you use to access YumRecall secure and for activity performed through your account.

Do not attempt to access another person's account or data, impersonate another person, interfere with the service, bypass security controls, or use YumRecall unlawfully.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content you add to YumRecall, such as photos, comments, ratings, and saved food history.

You grant YumRecall the limited permission needed to process, store, back up, synchronize, display, transmit, or analyze that content only as necessary to provide features you choose to use, such as cloud backup or an explicitly requested recognition action.

Only upload or save content you have the right to use. Do not use YumRecall to store unlawful, abusive, infringing, or harmful content.

5. Restaurant information and AI suggestions

Restaurant information from third-party providers may be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or outdated. Confirm important information directly with the restaurant.

AI-assisted dish recognition is optional and may produce inaccurate or misleading suggestions. Always review a suggestion before saving it. Do not rely on AI recognition to determine ingredients, allergens, nutrition, dietary suitability, food safety, or medical information. When those details matter, verify them with the restaurant or another reliable source.

6. Privacy

The YumRecall Privacy Policy explains what information YumRecall accesses or processes, how it is used, which providers are involved, and how deletion works.

7. Cloud backup and availability

YumRecall may store data locally and, when cloud features are active, synchronize selected data through Firebase. Local storage, networks, devices, third-party services, and cloud services can fail or become unavailable.

Do not rely on YumRecall as the only copy of information you cannot replace. YumRecall may change, suspend, discontinue, limit, or update features when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, provider changes, or product development.

8. Account deletion

You can request deletion from Settings → Delete account. Supported externally verifiable accounts can also request deletion at yumrecall.web.app/delete-account.

Deletion is permanent once completed. It removes the associated YumRecall cloud account data described in the Privacy Policy, but it does not remove original photos from your device gallery or local copies that may remain on another device.

9. Third-party services

Features may rely on third-party services such as Firebase, Google, Facebook, Gemini, and PostHog. Your use of those features may also be subject to the provider's applicable terms and policies. YumRecall is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control.

10. No food, medical, or safety advice

YumRecall is provided for personal organization and memory. Ratings, notes, restaurant information, and AI-generated suggestions are informational only. YumRecall does not provide medical, dietary, allergy, nutritional, or food-safety advice.

11. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, YumRecall is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, secure, or suitable for every purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, YumRecall and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or third-party services.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using YumRecall at any time and may request account deletion where applicable. YumRecall may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse or security issues, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

14. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated when YumRecall changes its features, providers, legal requirements, or operating practices. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, by providing an in-app or release notice. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different form of consent.

15. Applicable law

Applicable local laws and non-waivable consumer rights continue to apply. These Terms do not override rights that cannot legally be waived by contract.
